Why do we use Bronze?
It has been said by experts, that since bronze resists corrosion
or decay, works of art cast in bronze may well outlast all other
artifacts of metal from this civilization. For centuries, artists
have recognized its qualities…the beauty of bronze is unsurpassed.
It is no wonder, then, that SOLID BRONZE is the chosen medium of
Garden Expressions. The elements of time will only enhance your
Sundials natural beauty.
OUR SUNDIALS
These ageless timepieces are cast, tumbled and then individually
hand finished to achieve all the richness of detail intended by
the artist Mary L. Bradley. She has cast her artwork throughout
the sundials and into the gnomons (shadow casters). Each Sundial,
original in design and verse, is copyrighted and bears her initials.
These designs are exclusively Garden Expression's.
Is my Sundial functional?
You bet! All you need is the sun and a level place to put your
Sundial. Sundials tell sun time which is slightly different from
clock time, so use your watch for appointments. Your sundial will
come fully assembled with instructions on how to set it to tell
solar time.
Where can I place my Sundial?
Place your Sundial in the center of your herb garden to add charm
and elegance. Make it the focal point in a garden setting. Some
people place them along a garden path or even at the base of a flagpole.
Your Sundial will add beauty to any setting.
Which Sundial should I buy?
We have five different designs to choose from and
each are available in polished natural bronze (PNB) or antique bronze(AB).
The differences in finishes are shown below. An example of the polished
natural bronze is the SD13. You can see that the entire dial is
polished and the relief work has been highlighted. The antique bronze
finish has a rich brown hue background and the relief is highlighted
(Examples: SD10, SD11, SD12 and SD14)
