About the Artist

Some
of you may already be enjoying the splendid creations of the late
Mary L. Bradley. Her love of flowers and spending endless hours
in her English style garden was the inspiration for many of Garden
Expressions products. As an oil painter, Mary had established herself
as a respected and well-known artist showing her oil paintings at
several galleries in the Northwest. But Mary had visions and dreams,
of expanding her talents, and with the help of her son Steven they
were about to come true. Much of Mary's time was spent preparing
for her art shows, lengthy nights with paintbrush in hand, but her
mind was never far from her garden. When time allowed, she would
be out amongst her flowers, a virtual palette of color in itself.
Always looking for ways to make her garden even more pleasing, Mary
loved the thought of an arbor, something that would accent the beautiful
entry to her floral Eden. Mary worried that a wood arbor would not
survive the weather and thus the rose that would have climbed on
it, well established, would have been disturbed in replacing its
support. Understanding his mother's frustration, Steven created
an arbor for her, an original idea and design constructed of copper
that would never falter under any climbing flower. Visitors to Mary's
garden were so impressed with Steven's arbor that he decided to
market it, thus a company known as Gardenside Products was born,
now Garden Expressions. Soon Steven's company was introducing garden
accessories in bronze and wood as well as copper, many embellished
with the original artwork and verse of Mary L. Bradley. Mary passed
away in 1995 but not without realizing her dream of bringing the
beauty of her art into your garden. So whether it is an arbor, flower
press or a sundial, remember…
